Google has selected 16 organizations for its inaugural Google DeepMind Accelerator: AI for the Planet in the Asia-Pacific region.
The program aims to scale AI-powered environmental solutions through expert mentorship and tailored support.
PROGRAM STRUCTURE AND FRONTIER AI MODELS
The APAC cohort kicks off with a hands-on bootcamp in Singapore and will provide access to frontier AI models to develop environmental solutions. TechStaged has also covered OpenAI researcher emphasizes stronger safeguards and international coordination for AI alignment.
Participants will work with frontier models such as AnthroKrishi, ForestCast, AlphaEarth Foundations, SpeciesNet, and Perch to tackle urgent environmental challenges.

- Living Roots (Thailand) – AI-designed biological fertilizers for crops
- SIGMA (Singapore) – satellite-based AI for crop yield estimation and climate resilience
- Terrastack (India) – plot-level land intelligence using satellite and agronomic data
- X-Centric (Australia) – portable AI-enabled X-ray soil analysis
- Archeda (Japan) – satellite data to transform carbon credits into high-integrity assets
- City Syntax Lab (Singapore) – AI platform to optimize energy and carbon in urban districts

Over the next three months, participants will gain access to Google’s latest AI stack, including frontier models, with tailored support and mentorship from Google experts.

The program plans a three-month window of development and scale for the cohort, beginning with the APAC bootcamp in Singapore and expanding to ongoing mentorship and model access to advance environmental challenges in the region.
